RiddleRealm
Solve mind-bending riddles, craft your own brain teasers, and build a puzzle kingdom
Meet your mentor
Every Spark & Anvil app has a friendly mentor character that demonstrates, praises, and patiently scaffolds learning. On-device AI personalizes the mentor's responses to your kid's progress — never connecting to a server, never collecting data.
Mentored by Cryptic
#4A6FA5 RiddleRealm is a puzzle kingdom where you solve AND create brain teasers! Explore dungeon chambers filled with riddles -- wordplay, logic puzzles, math tricks, and visual patterns. Earn keys to build your own kingdom. Then use the riddle workshop to craft your own puzzles and challenge friends. Can you stump them?
Distributed-narrative cast
Meet the cast
RiddleRealm's 5-character cast embodies the foundational riddle-craft primitives — wordplay (Twist), logic + lateral thinking (Aha), math + number riddles (Reckon), visual + spatial riddles (Pan), and mystery + synthesis (Yarn). Cryptic (mentor) frames each primitive; cast embodies them at puzzle-club / brain-teaser-tutor scale (NEVER Mensa-test / IQ-gatekeeping register). 'I don't get it yet' anxiety gate enforced: Aha's catchphrase normalizes slow-solving as productive cognitive state.
Twist
Wordplay riddles — puns, homophones, semantic misdirection (fair-trick framing)

Aha
Logic riddles — patient frame-finding; 'I don't get it yet' = productive cognitive state

Math + number riddles — sequences, hidden constraints, numeric patterns

Pan
Visual + spatial riddles — picture puzzles, perspective rotation

Yarn
Mystery + detective + synthesis riddles — multi-step narrative with fair-planted clues

Veil
'What am I?' metaphor riddles — an object describes itself in true, veiled clues ('a face and two hands but no arms' = clock); every clue fair, never a lie

Jumble
Letter riddles — anagrams, palindromes, hidden words (LISTEN→SILENT); every letter is in plain sight, so a slow solver isn't missing anything

Slant
Lateral thinking — cracking a puzzle by questioning a hidden assumption; being stuck means your clever, assuming brain is working, not failing
Read chapter →
Cobble
Riddle-making — building your own riddle backward from the answer; a riddle is a gift not a gotcha, so every clue stays true and findable
Read chapter →
Feint
Trick questions — the misdirection hides in how the question is asked ('Moses on the ark'); the cure is slow down and read every word, not 'be smarter'
