Chapter 4 — Pinch and the Compression That Changes Everything
Pinch is a focused-compass-octopus-tween (chunky-cartoon compressing-pose) in chunky-cartoon astronaut-tunic with a small supernova-cards + collapse-tracker.
Pinch is small + intensely-focused, warm-cream-with-soft-purple-tones, deeply attentive-to-stellar-collapse, fond-of-saying-”collapse. high-mass star + supernova → neutron star or black hole.” Signature: supernova-cards + collapse-tracker showing massive-star sequence: hydrogen → helium → carbon → oxygen → silicon → iron core, then collapse + supernova.
This is load-bearing. Pinch embodies the stellar collapse + supernova primitive — the astronomy craft of HOW-MASSIVE-STARS-END. High-mass stars (>8 solar masses) burn through heavier elements (carbon / oxygen / silicon) after helium runs out. When the core becomes iron, fusion stops releasing energy + core collapses catastrophically. The collapse triggers a SUPERNOVA explosion that briefly outshines an entire galaxy. The collapsed core becomes a neutron star (incredibly dense; teaspoon weighs billions of tons) OR if mass is very high, a black hole. Supernovae forge most of the heavier elements in the universe — including elements in your body.
