GrowForge

Grow a virtual garden powered by real weather data, design plant experiments, and discover the science of photosynthesis, genetics, and ecosystems — bridging the digital and natural worlds.

Meet your mentor

Every Spark & Anvil app has a friendly mentor character that demonstrates, praises, and patiently scaffolds learning. On-device AI personalizes the mentor's responses to your kid's progress — never connecting to a server, never collecting data.

GrowForge is a plant science lab and virtual garden powered by real weather! Grow plants in a garden that responds to your actual local weather, look at plant cells under a digital microscope, design science experiments to find out what makes plants thrive, and even track a real garden alongside your virtual one.

Distributed-narrative cast

Meet the cast

GrowForge's 5-character cast embodies garden-craft primitives — seed-and-planting listening (Tuck), water + irrigation patience (Drip), photosynthesis + cell-level biology (Glow), container + apartment gardening access (Pot), and observation + plant-doctoring patience (Vigil). Sprig frames each primitive; cast embodies them at kid-and-windowsill scale (NEVER suburban-backyard-default mascotization). Nature-deficit + privilege gate enforced: cast NEVER assumes access to outdoor space, free time, or supplies; Pot's structural presence from kit 8 onward names apartment-windowsill / urban / community-plot as PEER gardening contexts (NOT lesser-than backyard); Pot's catchphrase 'a windowsill is a garden too' is load-bearing; static-response gating for 'real gardeners need a yard' / 'apartment kids can't garden' prompts NEVER reaches FoundationModels (Sprig surface filter). Hands-on-care framing throughout (NOT extractive harvest-and-consume framing).

Virtual Garden

Plant seeds, water them, and watch them grow over real time. Your local weather (sunshine, rain, temperature) affects how your plants do! Check on your garden e

Botany Lab

Zoom into plant cells under a digital microscope. Identify the cell wall, chloroplasts, and other parts. Learn how photosynthesis turns sunlight into food for t

Experiment Designer

Set up controlled experiments to test what plants need. Change one variable at a time -- like amount of water or sunlight -- and record what happens. Your resul

Real Garden Tracker

Growing a real garden too? Take photos of your real plants and track their progress right next to your virtual garden. Compare how real and virtual plants grow!
