What your child practices

TaleTrail builds the earliest storytelling skills for ages 5–8: how a story has a beginning, a middle, and an end, and how to make one of their own. Page the folded-paper guide and three story pals — Once, Bump, and Tada! — model the questions every story answers.

• Story Trail — arrange picture cards into order (beginning → middle → end). A tricky one just gets a warm "let's look again," never a buzzer. Tap Surprise! to roll three random pictures and invent a brand-new story.
• Make a Friend — build a story character from a body, a feeling, and a color, and give them a name. There's no wrong way to make a friend.
• Tell It — tap words and little pictures to build a sentence about the story, then press play to hear it read aloud — helpful for children who aren't reading on their own yet.

Play together

These activities are lovely to do side by side. Talk about what happens first, next, and last; point at the pictures; and celebrate the tries. A grown-up can help read the words or scribe a name. There's no timer and no racing — storytelling is for thinking, not speed.

Mistakes are welcome

Page never says "wrong". A tricky order gets a gentle "let's look again", and every round finishes with encouragement about the effort. Big buttons and simple words are made for little hands and new readers.

Our privacy promise

Everything happens on your device. There are no accounts, no ads, and nothing leaves the device — your child's stories and characters stay in your browser. The "Tell It" read-aloud uses your browser's own built-in voice; nothing is recorded, and nothing is sent anywhere.
