StoryPals — for grown-ups
StoryPals builds oral narrative and story grammar — the language-comprehension half of the Simple View of Reading, the part that grows years before a child decodes their first word. Children listen to a short spoken story with Webb the spider and friends, then: Put it in Order (sequence the story’s parts), Who & Where (find the character and setting), and Listen & Retell (work out why, then tell the whole story back in their own voice).
It is spoken end to end (built for pre-readers), buttons are big, and a wrong tap just invites another listen — there is no losing. The retell is self-guided and private: the child says the story aloud to you or to themselves — nothing is recorded, no microphone is used, and nothing leaves the device.
