RhymeReef is built for ages 3–5 to grow phonological awareness — hearing the sounds inside words. It is one of the strongest early predictors of learning to read, and it is all done by ear.

• Rhyme Match — hear two words and decide if they rhyme.
• Clap the Beats — count the beats (syllables) in a word.
• First Sound — catch the first sound a word starts with.
• Odd One Out — spot the word that does not rhyme.

All by ear, no way to lose

Every word is read aloud so your child can listen for the sounds — best played with you nearby, saying the words together. There are no timers and no way to fail; a miss just says “listen again,” and every success is celebrated.

Your privacy

RhymeReef runs entirely on your device. No accounts, no ads, no microphone, nothing your child does leaves the device. Sounds use your browser’s built-in voice.
