MelodyMice — for grown-ups
MelodyMice is a gentle first taste of music for young children (ages 5–7). Squeak the mouse invites your child to tap a colorful keyboard, echo simple beats, sing little tunes back, meet instruments, hear a song of the day, and build a tune of their own.
What it practices
- Steady beat & rhythm — hearing a pattern and tapping it back (Echo the Beat).
- Pitch & melody — a call-and-response tune, and a no-wrong-note keyboard (Sing It Back, Play the Bars).
- Instrument identification — ten instruments across five families (Find the Sound).
- Musical creativity — placing notes on a grid to compose a looping song (Make a Song).
Made to feel safe
There is no wrong answer and no fail state. The keyboard is pentatonic, so every note sounds good together — nothing your child plays can sound “wrong.” Every activity ends with warm encouragement (0–3 stars for showing up and trying), never criticism.
Privacy
MelodyMice runs entirely on this device. There are no accounts, no ads, no third-party trackers, and nothing your child does leaves the device. Progress (stars, level, and a gentle day-streak) is saved only in your browser’s local storage. Sounds are synthesized live in the browser — no audio files are downloaded.
