Privacy & how it works

MarketQuest on the web is built the same way as our iOS apps: private by design.

Everything stays on this device

Your progress — best scores and XP — is stored only in this browser (on-device storage). It is never sent anywhere. Clear your browser data and it's gone; nobody else can see it.

No accounts, no ads, no tracking

There is no sign-up and no login. There are no ads and no in-app purchases. There are no third-party trackers embedded in the app.

How it works

In the Supply & Demand Lab, pick a market and slide the price: watch how many buyers want the good, how many sellers offer it, the money earned, and whether the price leaves a surplus, a shortage, or a balanced market — on a live chart. Then find the equilibrium price where buyers and sellers agree, and the price that earns a seller the most. In the Market Shift Lab, a real event — a heat wave, a frost, a viral video, a new machine — moves the market: predict which curve shifts and where the price and quantity land, then see the reveal. Or run a Concepts kit: a short round of questions. A hint appears only after a first try, so you think it through first — and mistakes are treated as part of learning.

Fair and even-handed

MarketQuest teaches how markets work, not what to believe. Taxes, trade, and policy are shown neutrally, as trade-offs to reason about — never as one side's opinion. Money decisions are framed calmly: a "loss" in a lab is a lesson, not a scold.

Built for ages 10–14

The 400 Concepts questions come straight from the MarketQuest iOS app and are aligned to national economics and social-studies standards (C3 Framework, grades 5–8). Everything works with the sound off and can be played entirely by keyboard. Meet the cast and read their stories at the cast page.
