Privacy & how it works
LabSmith on the web is built the same way as our iOS apps: private by design.
Everything stays on this device
Your progress — best scores and XP — is stored only in this browser (on-device storage). It is never sent anywhere. Clear your browser data and it's gone; nobody else can see it.
No accounts, no ads, no tracking
There is no sign-up and no login. There are no ads and no in-app purchases, and no third-party trackers. The physics labs run entirely in your browser from simple, exact formulas — nothing is streamed or sent.
Learn by predicting
The three labs ask you to make a prediction BEFORE the experiment runs — the best-evidenced way to learn science — with a hint only after a first try, and a plain explanation every time. A wrong prediction is not a mistake to feel bad about; noticing the surprise is exactly how scientists learn. The 400 questions come straight from the LabSmith iOS app.
Real physics, honestly modelled
The labs use the standard textbook models — projectile range, a small-swing pendulum's period, and per-bulb power in series and parallel circuits. They ignore air resistance and other small effects so the core idea stands out clearly, the same way a classroom demonstration does.
Spark & Anvil is a 501(c)(3) public charity. Apps stay free forever. This page is a plain-language summary, not legal advice.
