About EthosForge Play
How it works
EthosForge helps you reason about ethics the way careful thinkers do — not by handing you the “right” answer, but by teaching you to think through hard choices from more than one point of view.
- Dilemma Navigator — read a real dilemma and commit to a choice. Then comes the hard part: find the strongest reason someone might disagree with you (that's called steelmanning). Finally, see the dilemma through five moral lenses — Consequences, Rules & Duties, Character, Care, and Fairness. Your choice is never marked right or wrong; your reasoning is what you practice.
- Argument Studio — tap the pieces (evidence, reasoning, a qualifier, an objection) onto an ethical claim and watch a live strength meter climb from Rickety to Ironclad. Weak or sneaky pieces pull it down. A hint unlocks after you check it.
- Concept kits — 16 short question rounds, from what fairness means to analyzing complex dilemmas across science, technology, the environment, and history.
Why there's no “right” answer
On real ethical questions, thoughtful people disagree — and that's okay. EthosForge never tells you what to believe. It shows you how each moral lens sees a problem, and it rewards the skill of holding two good reasons in tension instead of pretending one side is simply wrong. Learning to steelman the other side is what makes you fair and hard to fool.
Our privacy promise
EthosForge Play is free, works offline, and collects nothing. No accounts, no ads, no tracking, and no data ever leaves your device — your progress, level, and streak are saved only in this browser.
Mistakes are part of it
You never lose anything for a wrong try. A missed steelman or a weak argument gets a gentle note about what would make it stronger — hints teach you how to think it through, not just the answer. That's how real reasoning is learned.
