About DanceQuest Play

The web version of DanceQuest — the dance-arts app where you learn the ideas behind the moves.

How it works

Three ways to explore, all in your browser — no camera and no dancing required:

  • 16 concept kits — short rounds of multiple-choice questions on dance genres and cultures, rhythm and musicality, choreography, dance science, history, and performance. A hint appears after a first wrong try; every answer gets an explanation.
  • Choreography Composer — tap moves from a movement palette into a phrase and fill the counts exactly, then meet a composition goal: vary your levels, travel and stay in place, or add dynamic contrast. It’s how choreographers build a phrase, one 8-count at a time.
  • Laban Effort Lab — read a described movement and predict its effort quality (Dab, Glide, Punch, Float…), then see the three qualities — space, weight, and time — that make it. Predict, observe, explain.

Dance is about what your body can DO

DanceQuest is body-neutral on purpose. Every move here describes an action — never how a body should look. There is no “right” dancer’s body. Dance is for every body.

Your privacy

Everything runs on your device. No account, no sign-in, no ads, no tracking. Your progress (XP, streak, best scores) is saved only in this browser, on this device — it never leaves. Clearing your browser data clears it.
