AnchorQuest

Your thoughts aren’t always facts — and noticing that is a skill you can practise. AnchorQuest is a calm toolkit for the CBT basics: catch an automatic thought, name the “thinking trap,” and build a kinder, more balanced way to see it — plus the real facts about stress, anxiety, sleep, and reaching out. You’ll practise on other people’s thoughts, so it never puts you on the spot.

This is a learning game, not therapy or a diagnosis. Nothing you do here is watched, graded, or saved anywhere but this device. If something in real life feels like too much, the resources at the bottom of every page are there any time.

Who you’ll practise with

Not mascots and not stand-in “friends” — just near-peers working through ordinary moments, each showing one skill in action. You help them; the same skills are yours to keep.

  • Ondine — notices a thought, names the trap, and reframes it (cognitive reappraisal)
  • Theo — checks the story his mind tells before believing it (mind-reading)
  • Priya — finds the middle ground between “perfect” and “pointless” (all-or-nothing)
  • Marco — grounds a racing body with breath and the 5-4-3-2-1 senses (grounding)
  • Philippa — knows who to reach out to and how to ask (help-seeking)
  • a good friend — supports someone else while respecting their own limits (supporting a friend)

Learn the toolkit

Sixteen short kits — from noticing automatic thoughts and the common thinking traps to reframing, grounding, the stress response, sleep and mood, anxiety and low-mood literacy, help-seeking, supporting a friend, self-compassion, and building a coping plan. Every item is a skill or a fact — never a test of you. Your progress stays on this device.

How it works

AnchorQuest teaches skills and facts (the way a health class does) — it does not assess, diagnose, or track how you feel. There’s no mood log and no “score” on your emotions: it only remembers which kits you’ve tried, and only on this device (no accounts, no ads, nothing sent anywhere). It’s written in a warm, non-judgmental voice, and real crisis resources sit at the bottom of every page.

Mixed practice — revisit what you've learned A short round that shuffles questions across the kits you've played, brought back when they're ready to review (spaced out so it sticks).
